Make your quiz above to start a game, or read on for five ways to play. A round takes about a minute to set up: write your answers to 10 questions, then share one link with everyone who should play.
How the Don't Block Me game works
The game has one host and any number of players. The host makes a quiz about themselves. Players open the link, guess the host's answers and get a score out of 10. The joke is the threat: score low and you're "blocked". It's a friendship game, so the block is always a joke.
If you just want the meaning, rules and scoring in detail, see the Don't Block Me test guide. This page is about playing it as a game with a group.
5 ways to play
1. The story challenge
Post your quiz link on your Instagram or Snapchat story with a line like "score under 5 and you're blocked". Friends play, send you their score, and you repost the best and worst results. It's the classic way to play and it brings in people you haven't talked to in a while.
2. Group chat battle
Everyone in the group makes their own quiz and drops the link in the chat. Each person plays everyone else's. Add up the scores: whoever knows the group best wins, and whoever scores lowest overall picks the next group activity or pays for the snacks.
3. Best friend face-off
Two friends each make a quiz and play each other's at the same time. Compare scores, then go through the wrong answers together. This works well on a call or side by side, because the arguing is half the fun.
4. Couple round
Partners make quizzes about themselves and swap. Use the habits and preferences questions: favorite late-night snack, the thing that annoys them most, their dream weekend. Keep the stakes playful, like the loser plans the next date.
5. Party or class version
At a party, a sleepover or in a classroom icebreaker, one person makes a quiz and everyone plays on their phones at the same time. Read the results out loud. It's a fast way to learn things about someone, and it gets quiet people talking.
How to run a round in a group
- Pick a host. One person makes the quiz first. Others can take turns hosting later.
- Set a deadline. "Scores in by 9pm" keeps the game from fizzling out.
- Agree on the stake. Blocked for an hour, posting an embarrassing photo, or buying coffee. Keep it light.
- Collect the scores. Players send their score back with the "Send my score" button at the end.
- Announce the results. Name the winner, roast the lowest score kindly, and pass the host role on.
Challenge rules to make it harder
- No second chances. The first score counts, even if you want a retake.
- Speed round. Answer all 10 in under a minute.
- Hard mode. The host picks the trickiest questions from our question ideas.
- Fake friend round. Use the questions from the fake friend quiz to see who's been paying attention.
- Revenge round. The lowest scorer becomes the next host, and everyone has to play their quiz.
